MagnifiScents: Sundrunk

Sundrunk is Your Summer Staycation Scent

There aren’t a lot of great orange based fragrances out there and I can only imagine it’s because orange is typically more of a playful scent than a seductive one. There’s nothing wrong with playful, but it can make it a struggle for a perfumer to find the right story to tell. Fortunately, Imaginary Authors has never struggled with storytelling. In fact, their whole brand identity is based on imaginary books written by imaginary authors. With that in mind it should be no surprise that perfumer Josh Meyer had just the right touch to create a this playful scent.

Sundrunk opens with a very fresh and sour juicy orange. Moments later a sweet essence envelopes the fragrance as if the orange was dipped in melted sugar. This careful balance of sour and sweet lasts through the full wear of the scent.

With a name like Sundrunk, I had hoped for a boozy flavor in there, but the lack of it doesn’t take away from the experience. Ultimately, this your summer day mood scent. It’s a fun scent to wear on a hot summer, or any other season if you want the people around you to know you’re feeling summery.

Scent Profile: a sour, juicy orange dipped lightly in sugar.
